Things to do
Clay Shooting
Clay shooting at the Nordic Farmhouse is a great way spend time on the wider farm and add some adrenaline to your day! Our clay shooting sessions are set in open farmland, leaning towards ‘game simulation’ in target style.
We connect our Promatic ‘Ranger’ clay trap o the back of the Defender and set-up varied sporting targets tailored to your experience, but most importantly we like to make your experience fun and even introduce some competition if you fancy it.
The Dingley valley has some good topography and woodland which provides a good setting for setting targets, our wirelessly controlled clay trap can throw targets 100m+ with varied elevation of up-to 70 degrees allowing driven, teal, going-away and crossers to name a few. We have a second trap option to add an additional target ‘On report’ and plan to invest further into our automatic traps very soon.
We have both 12 and 20 gauge shotguns available with low recoil 21g cartridge loads for novices or anyone who will finds the 12 gauge too much, the shotgun and cartridges for your session are provided along with ear defenders, safety glasses and baseball caps.
Ross who lives on the farm will be your instructor, he’s been shooting since he was 16 and has won the British Schools Team Championship twice, he’s a little rusty these days but puts his focus on coaching more than shooting itself! - Ross is registered as a CPSA Safety officer (Clay Pigeon Shooting Association) and will provide a safe, fun and well organised shooting session.
Post shooting refreshments can be provided out of the back of the Defender should you wish to relax and discuss those near misses or dustings afterwards?!

COURSE Fishing
The 1/2 aces lake is part of the Nordic Farmhouse farm and is a 10min walk and it’s a really peaceful place to be.
You can even drive there via the farm track and park close for easy access with fishing rods and kit.
The lake is stocked with mostly Mirror Carp from approx 2lb to 20lb+ according to the rumours from Local fisherman, lake features include an island and Lilly pads which helps for casting targets.
If you're not into fishing you could take a picnic and enjoy the serenity of the English countryside!
